Banana Republic Women’s Size Chart

Some Banana Republic tops also come in Petite or Tall — Petite has its own size table (shown by the toggle above the chart); the rest share the Regular body measurements, just cut longer. Your height picks the fit first:

• Regular — for women 5′5″–5′10″
• Petite — for women 5′4″ and under
• Tall — for women 5′11″ and up

Not every product comes in every length.

• Sold as letter sizes (XXS–XXL). If your product’s size options look different, use the tab that matches them.
• One BR chart covers women’s tops, sweaters, tees and the dresses, jackets and coats sold by letter — XXS to XXL, each letter spanning two of BR’s numeric sizes (XS is 0–2, M is 8–10, XXL is 20 alone). Bust sets the size; waist and hip are the checks. Number-sized pieces are on the Dresses tab, same body measurements.
• Petite, Regular and Tall are a Fit choice on the product page. Your height picks the fit first, with BR’s own cutoffs — Petite is 5′4″ and under, Tall 5′11″ and up — and a measured sleeve refines it; then we size you on that fit’s own table. Tall shares the Regular body measurements with sleeves about 2″ longer. Petite has its own BR table, about ½″ trimmer at every size with sleeves about 1¾″ shorter — the Petite toggle above the chart shows it, and a Petite answer comes from it, never from the Regular numbers. With no height we size you on the Regular table.
• Blazers and coats have their own BR table that runs about ¼–½″ fuller — same sizes; check a jacket’s own size guide if you’re at a boundary. Swim is third-party at BR (Vitamin A, Hunza G) with its own hip and bust bands on each product.

• Petite, Regular and Tall are a Fit choice on the product page. Your height picks the fit first, with BR’s cutoffs — Petite 5′4″ and under, Tall 5′11″ and up — and then we size you on that fit’s own table. Tall shares the Regular measurements with a longer body (each dress page lists its Petite, Regular and Tall length). Petite has its own BR table, 00 to 14, about ½″ trimmer at every number — the Petite toggle above the chart shows it, and a Petite answer comes from it. With no height we size you on the Regular table. Size 20 comes in only a few styles. BR’s chart also lists a 000 that no dress, top or blazer comes in, so it isn’t here.
• One slip we corrected: BR’s dresses table prints the size 0 hip as 35½″ and the size 20 hip as 49½″, where its own centimeter column and its tops and skirts tables say 35¼″ and 49¼″.

• Petite, Regular and Tall (called Long on some styles) are a Fit choice on the product page. Your height picks the fit first, with BR’s cutoffs — Petite 5′4″ and under, Tall 5′11″ and up — and then we size you on that fit’s own table: Tall shares the Regular waist and hip; Petite has its own BR table, 00 to 14, about ½″ trimmer at every number (the Petite toggle above the chart shows it). • BR publishes no inseam table: each product lists its own Petite, Regular and Tall (or Long) inseam — a 22″ culotte, a 30″ flare — so match that to your leg. BR’s chart also lists a 000 that no pant, skirt or short comes in, so it isn’t here.

• BR’s jeans sell by waist tag, 24 to 35, and BR publishes the natural waist each tag fits — an inch or two over the tag (a 27 fits a 28″ natural waist, a 30 a 31″, a 34 a 38″), so we size by BR’s published body, never by matching the tag to your tape. Hip is the check. Land on a number and you get that tag; between two, we name both and lean to the larger. The tags are BR’s dress sizes under another name (a 25 is a 0, a 28 a 6, a 34 an 18) — the same ladder as the Pants tab. BR’s chart also lists a 23 that no jean comes in, so it isn’t here.
• Regular, Petite and Long (Tall) are a Fit choice on the product page. Your height picks the fit first — Petite 5′4″ and under, Tall 5′11″ and up — and then we size you on that fit’s own BR table. Tall shares the Regular measurements with a longer leg. Petite is cut to a different body: on BR’s Petite table the same tag fits a full inch less at the natural waist (a 27 Petite fits a 27″ waist, a Regular 27 a 28″), so a Petite answer comes from that table — the Petite toggle above the chart shows it. With no height we size you on the Regular table.
• Length is Regular or Long (or Petite/Tall) on the product page, and each jean lists its own inseams — 31″ and 34″ on the Icon wide-leg, 32″ and 35″ on the palazzo — so match those to your leg. BR’s chart also carries a Curvy table (hips about 3″ fuller) that no jean currently sells.
• Heads up: some jean pages open BR’s pants chart (waist and hip by dress size) in their size guide rather than this tag table — same bodies, other name.
