J.Crew Women’s Size Chart

Some J.Crew tops also come in Petite or Tall — Petite and Tall have their own size tables (shown by the toggle above the chart). Your height picks the fit first:

• Classic — for women 5′5″–5′8″
• Petite — for women 5′4″ and under
• Tall — for women 5′9″ and up

Not every product comes in every length.

• Sold as letter sizes (XXX-Small to 3X). If your product’s size options look different, use the tab that matches them.
• One J.Crew chart covers women’s sweaters, tees, sweatshirts and the shirts, jackets, coats and dresses sold by letter — XXX-Small to 3X, each letter covering one or two of J.Crew’s numbered sizes (X-Small is 0–2, Medium is 8–10, X-Large is 16). Bust sets the size and waist is the check. Tops, blazers and dresses sold by number are on the Dresses tab, same body measurements.
• Petite, Classic and Tall are J.Crew’s fit choices on the product page. Your height picks the fit first, with J.Crew’s own cutoffs — Petite is 5′4″ and under, Tall 5′9″ and up — and then we size you on that fit’s own J.Crew table: Petite runs 1½″ trimmer in the bust and 1″ at the waist at every size; Tall keeps the Classic waist and runs ½″ trimmer in the bust. With no height we size you on the Classic table.
• Most J.Crew tees, and some sweaters and sweatshirts, open a size chart of that garment’s own measurements — chest, shoulder and length of the clothes, not of you — in place of J.Crew’s body chart. Those run a few inches over your tape by design; this tab uses J.Crew’s body measurements, the ones on its size-chart page.
• We name sizes the way J.Crew’s size menus do — X-Small, XX-Large — where its size chart abbreviates them (XS, and “XXL / 1X” for XX-Large). XXX-Small is on the chart but rarely stocked, and J.Crew’s Tall chart also lists an XX-Small that no Tall top comes in, so it isn’t here. Coats and blazers have their own J.Crew table with the same bust, waist and hip at every size, so your size is the same. Swimsuits are sized on J.Crew’s separate swim chart (bikini tops by bra size, one-pieces with a Long Torso fit) — use the swim product’s own size chart there.

Land on a size’s bust and that’s your size outright; between two, we name both and lean to the larger, with waist and hip as the checks. Dresses sold by letter are on the Tops tab, same body.
• Petite, Classic and Tall are J.Crew’s fit choices on the product page. Your height picks the fit first — Petite 5′4″ and under, Tall 5′9″ and up — and then we size you on that fit’s own J.Crew table: Petite (00 to 14) runs 1½″ trimmer in the bust and 1″ at the waist and hip at every number; Tall (2 to 20) runs ½″ trimmer in the bust with the Classic waist and hip through 14, and a gentler step above. With no height we size you on the Classic table.
• Most J.Crew dress pages open a chart of that dress’s own garment measurements — the dress, not you — on some or all of the Size Chart’s Classic, Petite and Tall tabs. We size on J.Crew’s body measurements throughout. Size 000 is on J.Crew’s chart, but only blazers come in it, and it was sold out on every one when we checked. Tall starts at 2: J.Crew’s Tall chart also lists a 00 and a 0 that no Tall dress, shirt, blazer or coat comes in. J.Crew’s dress pickers name the 24 “4X / 24”, while its size chart prints 3X beside both 22 and 24.
• One slip we corrected in the centimeters: J.Crew’s dresses table prints 94 cm for the size-16 35½″ waist (it’s 90).

Waist decides, hip checks; land on a number and you get that size, between two we name both and lean to the larger. Pants and jeans sold by waist size (23–37) are on the Jeans tab.
• Petite, Classic and Tall are J.Crew’s fit choices on the product page. Your height picks the fit first — Petite 5′4″ and under, Tall 5′9″ and up — and then we size you on that fit’s own J.Crew table: Petite (00 to 12) runs 1″ trimmer at the waist and hip at every number; Tall (0 to 16) matches Classic through 14 and runs 1″ trimmer at 16. With no height we size you on the Classic table. Each product lists its own inseam — Petite and Tall are J.Crew’s shorter and longer cuts of it.
• J.Crew’s chart also lists a 000 and a Tall 00 that no pant, skirt or short comes in, so they aren’t here, and a Short fit (a 2″ shorter inseam, same cut) it doesn’t currently sell. Two slips we corrected in the centimeters: J.Crew’s bottoms table prints 62 cm for a 24″ waist (its other tables say 61) and 94 cm for the size-16 35½″ waist (it’s 90).

• Sold as waist sizes (23–37). If your product’s size options look different, use the tab that matches them.
• J.Crew’s jeans sell by waist size, 23 to 37, and J.Crew publishes the natural waist each one fits — the size number itself up to 28, then a little over it (a 30 fits a 30½″ waist, a 33 a 35¼″, a 36 a 42¼″) — so we size by J.Crew’s published body, not by matching the size to your tape. Land on a size and you get it; between two, we name both and lean to the larger.
• Petite and Tall are length choices on the same sizes: J.Crew’s denim chart prints one table for all three, and its jeans say “for heights 5′4″ and below, try our petite inseam; for 5′9″ and above, choose tall”. Your height picks the length, and each jean lists its own inseam. Petite runs 23–34 and Tall 25–34; 33 and 34 come in one style only, sold out in both when we checked.
• Chinos, corduroys, leather pants and other pants sold by waist size size here too. Their own size chart shows J.Crew’s numbered bottoms table instead — it has no waist sizes on it — so this is the one J.Crew table that gives a body for each. One slip we corrected: the denim table prints 62 cm for the 24’s 24″ waist (J.Crew’s other tables say 61).

• J.Crew’s letter-sized bottoms — pull-on and drawstring pants, skirts and shorts sold by letter, sweatpants — are J.Crew’s own grouping of its numbered sizes (X-Small covers 0–2, Medium covers 8–10), with the same body measurements as the Pants & Skirts tab. Your waist sets the size and your hip is the check.
• Your height picks Petite (5′4″ and under) or Tall (5′9″ and up) first, then that fit’s own J.Crew table sizes you. Petite runs 1″ trimmer at the waist and hip; J.Crew prints its Petite bottoms by number only, so we group them the way its other Petite charts do (X-Small is 0–2, Large is 12). Tall runs X-Small to X-Large and matches Classic through Large (J.Crew’s Tall chart also lists an XX-Small that no Tall bottom comes in). A few styles sell Petite X-Large and XX-Large or Tall XX-Large. J.Crew publishes no Petite body past Large or Tall body past X-Large — here or on the product’s own chart — so those sizes have no row.
