Old Navy Women’s Size Chart

Some Old Navy tops also come in Petite or Tall lengths — same body measurements, just cut longer or shorter. Pick the one for your height:

• Regular — for women 5′4″–5′8″
• Petite — for women 5′3″ and under
• Tall — for women 5′9″ and up

Not every product comes in every length.

• Sold as letter sizes (XXS–4X). If your product’s size options look different, use the tab that matches them.
• One Old Navy chart covers women’s tops, tees, sweaters, sweatshirts, jackets and coats, sleep tops and every dress sold by letter — XXS to 4X, each letter spanning the numbered sizes Old Navy prints under it (XS is 0–2, M is 8–10, XL is 16–18, 3X is 24–26). Bust sets the size and waist is the check. Old Navy’s chart calls the bust your chest: measure the fullest part, arms relaxed.
• XXL and 2X meet at size 20: Old Navy prints the 20 under both, so XXL is a single body (a 48¾″ bust) and 2X runs from there to 51″. Land on 48¾″ and XXL is your size; past it, 2X.
• Petite, Regular and Tall are a Fit choice on the product page, on the same body measurements — Old Navy’s Petite and Tall tables match its Regular one size for size, so only the length changes. Your height picks the fit, with Old Navy’s own cutoffs: Petite is 5′3″ and under, Tall 5′9″ and up. Petite and Tall run XS to XXL; XXS and 2X–4X come in Regular only.
• Swimsuits and robes print this same body table, so your letter carries over. Maternity is its own Old Navy department with its own chart, sold XS to XXL (0 to 20): the same bust at every size, with a waist range that allows for your bump, so your usual size carries over there if it falls in that run. Bras sell by letter or by band and cup; Old Navy’s bra table is by letter only and adds an under-bust measurement we don’t collect, so bras aren’t sized here. Many of the licensed graphic tees in Old Navy’s women’s T-shirt section are unisex, sold XS to XXXXL on its men’s and gender-neutral charts — a unisex M there is cut for a 39–42″ chest, where a women’s M here is a 36½–37½″ bust — so size those from the tee’s own guide. Partner-sold graphic tees there, marked “Sold & shipped by” another company, have no Old Navy size guide, so go by each tee’s fit tip, where it has one.

• Old Navy’s numbered bottoms — jeans, pants, trousers, shorts and skirts — sell by size 000 to 30, and Old Navy publishes one natural waist and hip per number: a 29″ waist is an 8, a 42″ waist a 20. Waist decides, hip checks; land on a number and you get that size, between two we name both and lean to the larger. Size 000 comes only in some denim shorts and skirts.
• Petite, Regular and Tall are a Fit choice on the product page, on the same waist and hip — only the length changes. Your height picks the fit, with Old Navy’s own cutoffs: Petite 5′3″ and under, Tall 5′9″ and up. Petite runs 00 to 20 and Tall 2 to 20, though the 20 was sold out on every style that offers it when we checked; above 20, Regular is the only fit. Each product lists its own inseams — the OG straight ankle jean lists 26″ Petite, 28″ Regular and 31″ Tall — so match those to your leg.
• Some jeans — every Wow style and a few Rockstar ones — sell a Short, Regular or Long length inside Regular, through size 30, instead of a Petite fit. Old Navy’s fit notes on the Wow jeans give the short length for 5′3″ and under and the tall one for 5′9″ and up, so take Short where we say Petite and Long where we say Tall (the Wow jeans also sell a Tall fit, 4 to 18). Short and Long go past size 20, where Petite and Tall stop. Curvy jeans and shorts are cut roomier in the hip on the same sizes, by about ¾″ to 2½″ depending on the style and size, so check the product’s own fit notes.

Your waist sets the size and your hip is the check.
• XXL and 2X meet at size 20, as on the Tops & Dresses tab: XXL is a 42″ waist and 2X runs from 42″ to 44¼″. Petite and Tall work as on the Pants tab — Petite 5′3″ and under, Tall 5′9″ and up, XS to XXL, on the same measurements. XXS comes in only a few styles.
• Underwear prints the same waist at every size and the same hip at all but one (⅜″ apart at the 3X), so your letter here carries over.
