How we sized thissized by chest
  • Sold as letter sizes (XS to 6X). If your product's size options look different, use the tab that matches them.
  • One Columbia chart covers all tops — tees, shirts, fleece and jackets — sized by your chest; every product page we checked carries this same body chart. Standard and Big are separate cuts that overlap on chest (the same Standard|Big toggle you see on Columbia's product pages); your hip settles which, so add it if you might be a Big.
  • Tall sizes (LT–5XLT, sometimes labelled 2XT–5XT) use the same body measurements as L and the Big sizes with a longer body and sleeves — Columbia publishes no separate Tall chart or height. Roughly 6′2″ and up (our estimate), take your size's T: L→LT, 1X→XLT, 2X→2XLT… How much length you get varies by style (a fishing shirt is cut longer than a hiking shirt to begin with), so if you're borderline, check the product's Center Back Length under Details.
  • Columbia leaves real gaps between sizes (a 38″ chest sits between S and M) — land in one and we round up, naming the smaller size as the slimmer option. Product pages also show fit feedback (“Runs Large. Consider sizing down.”) — worth a glance.
