One H&M chart covers tops, shirts, sweaters, jackets and casual letter-sized blazers — chest governs, with waist and neckline as checks. H&M's own guide says the neckline is what matters on shirts worn with a tie. Every number here is H&M's own print, in both units.
H&M cuts each style in one length, named on the product page under Description & Fit — nearly every US top is "Regular length", with the odd "Long" cut (same chest, waist and neckline, about 1¼″/3 cm more arm on the size guide's Long tab). Your letter is the same either way. H&M measures arm length from the shoulder point to the wrist, a different method from the sleeve other brands use, so we don't compare it against a saved sleeve measurement.
Suits and blazers sold by number (38R) have their own chart — see the Suits & Blazers tab. H&M's letters map two suit sizes to each letter (an M is a 38R–40R).

H&M sizes suits and blazers by chest, in even numbers 30R–56R — each size spans 4 cm, exactly half a letter size, so this chart and the Tops chart always agree. Waist and the per-size neckline are checks.
The R in every size means Regular length — a Long suit would be an L-suffix number (38L: same number, about 1¼″/3 cm more arm), and the US store stocks none. The matching suit pants sell by waist-scale numbers (a 33R is a pant, not a jacket) — see the Dress Pants tab.

Sold as waist × length sizes (25–44). If your product's size options look different, use the tab that matches them.
We size H&M's jeans and chinos by your body waist, with low hip as a check. H&M's numbered sizes run a bit vanity — its own chart lists a 33–34″ body waist as a size 32 — and it publishes the body-waist range for each size, so we recommend the size H&M says fits you. Above size 34 H&M only cuts even sizes, so if your waist lands in a small gap we round up.
Length (30/32/34) comes from your inseam, or your height if you haven't measured it. H&M's own tip: a size with no length in its name (chinos sold as a plain 30) is the regular 32″ length. And a number with an R after it (32R) is a dress pant on a different scale — see the Dress Pants tab.

Sold as waist sizes (26R to 50R). If your product's size options look different, use the tab that matches them.
H&M's suit and dress pants sell by waist-scale numbers 26R–50R (even sizes plus a 33R) — the number is roughly your waist in inches, a scale apart from both the jeans and the jackets: a dress-pant 32R fits a 30¾–32¼″ waist, a jean 32 fits 33–34″, and a suit jacket's 32R is a chest size. Body waist governs, low hip as a check, every number H&M's own print in both units.
Each letter on the Trousers chart equals exactly two of these numbers (an M is a 33R–34R), so the two tabs always agree. The R in the size means Regular length — a Long would be an L-suffix number (32L) with a longer leg, and the US store stocks none — and inside legs run about 31½–33½″ by size. If a product page shows H&M's own "Suggestion: Go up a size", heed it for that product.

H&M's letter-sized bottoms — twill and relaxed pants, sweatpants, joggers and shorts; H&M's size guide calls them "Trousers Etc." — use body waist and hip, waist governing, separate from the numbered jeans and chinos on the Pants tab.
H&M's size guide also prints a Long tab — same waist and hip, inside leg 4 cm (about 1½″) longer, sized "XS/L"-style — but no US product sells those sizes, so we chart the Regular column. Product pages do name a styling "Length" (most current sweatpants say Long, meaning a longer-cut leg on the same letter sizes) — that's H&M's design wording, not a size choice; your letter is your letter either way.
Dress pants sold by number have their own chart — the Dress Pants tab — and each letter here equals exactly two of its numbers (an M is a 33R–34R), so the two tabs always agree.
